Upper Mustang trek takes you through some of the most preserved and isolated regions of Nepal.
This Upper Mustang trek – 11 days takes you to ‘Mini Tibet’ in Nepal. This region has similar topography, climate, and culture ro that of Tibet. You can clearly witness it in the socio-cultural lives of the locals.
The Upper Mustang Trek shows you a different trekking sight of Nepal. This region of Nepal has high altitude deserts, eroded sandstone pillars, red-rock cliffs, and caves.
You also pass through the deep river gorges of Kali Gandaki and get views of some of the highest mountain peaks of the world.

Upper Mustang Trek Itinerary
The Upper Mustang Trek starts with a drive / flight to Jomsom from where you would trek to Kagbeni ( 2800 m ). Kagbeni is the entrance of the upper Mustang and the trek starts getting a little rough on you from there, but that’s what adventure is all about. You would be exploring caves, rocks, and painting on rocks, gompas, and other cultural heritages. The trek continues from Kagbeni to Chele, Ghiling, and Tsarang and finally to Lo manthang – The Forbidden Kingdom of the Himalayas. While in Lo Manthang you would be totally around Tibetan culture soaking you into its cultural greatness with the visit to Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar – the two important places within the kingdom. After Lo Manthang, you would be trekking to Ghame, Syanboche, and finally back to Jomsom. After spending hours of hiking and exploring Upper Mustang for multiple days, the trek finally ends with a flight / drive back to Pokhara.

Day 06: Explore Lo Manthang and Chhoser area (It is possible to drive back Pokhara via Muktinath)
