TREK HIGHLIGHTS:

The Ghorepani Hot Spring Trek is a relatively easy walk that winds through Gurung villages and dense Rhododendron forests. It offers one of the best viewpoints of the Himalayas. This trek takes place in the villages of Ghorepani and Tatopani, both of which are famous for their stunning views of snow-capped peaks. Additionally, Tatopani provides an opportunity to relax and enjoy natural hot spring water.

During the Ghorepani Hot Spring Trek, you’ll witness the majestic Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna (8,091m), Fishtail (6,997m), Annapurna South, Himchuli, and other famous mountains. The best time to visit for this trek is during the autumn and spring seasons when the rows of Himalayan mountain peaks are covered by a blanket of impeccable white snow.

The Poonhill Hot Spring Trek begins at Nayapul, which is about a one-hour drive from the beautiful city of Pokhara.

ITINERARY:

The Ghorepani Hot Spring Trek is a popular hiking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal that takes you through stunning landscapes, traditional villages, and natural hot springs. This trek is perfect for those who are short on time but still want to experience the beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 1: Drive from Pokhara to Birethanti (1025 m) and trek to Ulleri (2070 m)

Duration: Approx. 4 to 5 hours walk

Your trekking guide will pick you up from your hotel at 7 a.m., and you’ll embark on a 1.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Birethanti. From there, your trek begins with a gentle walk along the Bhurungdi River, passing waterfalls and small villages. You’ll stop for lunch at Tikhedhunga before tackling Ulleri’s famous 3,000-stone steps. After 4 to 5 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Ulleri, where you can relax and enjoy the serene mountain atmosphere. Overnight stay in a tea house at Ulleri.

Day 2: Trek from Ulleri (2070 m) to Ghorepani (2860 m) 

Duration: Approx. 5 hours walk

Today’s trek takes you through dense rhododendrons and oak forests, with occasional clearings offering breathtaking mountain views. The trail passes through picturesque spots like Banthanti, where you can take short breaks. After trekking for about 5 hours, you’ll reach Ghorepani, a village famous for its panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Overnight stay in a tea house at Ghorepani.

Day 3: Trek from Ghorepani (2860 m) to Sikha (1935 m) and Tatopani (1190 m)

Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours walk

Begin the day with an early morning hike to Poon Hill (3210 m) to witness the sunrise over the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare ranges. After enjoying the stunning views, descend to Ghorepani for breakfast. The trail then leads downhill through rhododendron forests and terraced fields to Sikha, where you’ll stop for lunch. Continue trekking for 5 to 6 hours in total to reach Tatopani, known for its natural hot springs. You can relax in the thermal waters before resting in a tea house at Tatopani.

Day 4: Drive from Tatopani (1190 m) to Pokhara

Duration: Approx. 4 hours walk

After breakfast, you’ll take a scenic private vehicle ride back to Pokhara, which takes around 4 hours. The journey follows the Kali Gandaki Valley, offering views of rivers, terraced fields, and traditional villages. Arriving in Pokhara by early afternoon, reflect on your unforgettable trekking experience.
