He took me to different settlements, introduced me to monks, showed me how the Tibetan carpets are made, and even got me a consultation with a Tibetan medical provider. I wanted to book a tour lastminute, and even though I was the only guest for that time slot, they arranged the tour for me. Thupten showed me around Tibetan monastries and villages, and told me so much about the Tibetan communities in Nepal that it dazzled me. He was very honest and straightforward, and I found his view on Buddhism very interesting. Also, it was an amazing experience to be able to talk to a buddhist monk, and try all kinds of Tibetan food. The guide was very knowledgeable and explained each stop in detail. Visiting the locations alone or with a large tour group would definitely not provide the full experience. On the day my tour was the Tibetan doctor was unable to reach Pokhara due to travel disruption. However the guide himself was able to explain the topic himself and answer all our questions so I didn’t feel as if I missed anything. He also invited the members of the tour group who were available to come back the next day to meet the doctor.
