What to Wear and Bring

Wear comfortable walking shoes or sandals — you will need to remove your footwear when entering Buddhist monasteries, so shoes that slip on and off easily are ideal. Since the tour starts at 5:30 AM, the early morning can be quite cool, so bring a warm jacket, particularly in winter months. If the weather looks uncertain, a light rain jacket or small umbrella is useful, though we can provide one if needed. For the full-day tour, a small daypack is handy for carrying your personal belongings. If you have any questions about what to prepare, just ask us when you get in touch — we are always happy to help.

FAQs for our Pokhara Cultural Tour

Q: Is the 5:30 AM start time too early for me?

A: If you are not an early riser, no worries! We start at 5:30 AM specifically to witness the monks’ morning prayer chanting. If you prefer a later start, we offer:

  • Full-Day Tour: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Half-Day Tour: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Afternoon Tour: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Please note that each tour has a unique itinerary tailored to that specific time of day.

Q: Do you provide transportation, or do I need to arrange it myself?

A: Yes, round-trip pick-up and drop-off is included for guests staying within the Lakeside area. Our guide will arrive at your hotel at the scheduled pick-up time.

If you are staying outside the Lakeside area, we can still arrange your transportation for a small additional charge based on your location. Simply share your hotel name and location with us, and our team will take care of the rest.

Q: What should I wear for the Tibetan monastery tour in Pokhara?

A: For our Morning cultural tour in Pokhara, we recommend wearing comfortable, modest clothing that covers your shoulders and knees out of respect for the monastery and the local community. Since this Buddhist cultural tour in Pokhara begins early in the morning, Pokhara can be quite cold at that hour, so wearing a warm jacket is strongly recommended — especially during the winter months. Comfortable walking shoes are advisable as you will be moving between different locations throughout the tour. As removing your shoes before entering monastery prayer halls is required, shoes that are easy to slip on and off are particularly helpful.

Q: I really want to join the morning tour, but my flight leaves at 11:00 AM. Is there any hope for me?

A: Absolutely. If you do not have enough time to join our Morning Tibetan Cultural Tour, our Morning Half-Day Cultural Tour (5:30 AM – 9:00 AM) is the perfect alternative. It is specially designed for travellers with early departures, allowing you to enjoy a meaningful cultural experience. You will visit monasteries, engage in warm conversations with monks, and enjoy a hearty breakfast with a local Tibetan family before heading to the airport. It is a beautiful way to say goodbye to Pokhara, with culture, connection, and a full heart.

Q: Is the Morning Cultural Tour in Pokhara suitable for children?

A: The Morning Cultural Tour in Pokhara is best suited for adults and teenagers aged 15 and above. While children love meeting Buddhist monks, watching carpet weaving, spinning prayer wheels, and tasting traditional Tibetan food like momos, the tour runs for approximately 8 to 9 hours and involves listening to a significant amount of cultural and historical information throughout the day. Younger children may find this long and tiring.

For families with children under 15, we recommend our Morning Half Day Tibetan Cultural Tour, Half Day Tibetan Cultural Tour, or Afternoon Tibetan Cultural Tour — all three offer wonderful local experiences in Pokhara, covering the most enjoyable highlights in a shorter and more child-friendly timeframe. Please feel free to contact us before booking and we will happily help you choose the best tour for your family.
