ITINERARY:

Day 1: Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom(2720m) and Trek to Kagbeni(2800m)

Duration: 30 minutes flight
Duration: Approx. 2 to 3 hours walk

Start your adventure with a scenic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. The flight offers spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, creating a memorable start to your trek. Upon arrival in Jomsom, begin your trek to Kagbeni, a traditional village known for its Tibetan culture and stunning landscape. Kagbeni is a historical gateway to Upper Mustang, and you’ll explore its narrow alleys, traditional stone houses, and ancient monasteries. The village is also home to several fascinating sites that reflect the rich Tibetan Buddhist heritage.

Day 2: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3760m)

Duration: Approx. 6 to 7 hours walk

Your trek today will take you from Kagbeni to Muktinath, a revered pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The trail winds through rugged terrain and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Muktinath is home to the famous Muktinath Temple, where you can visit its 108 holy water taps and the eternal flame that never goes out. This spiritual destination is not only a place of religious importance but also offers panoramic views of the Himalayas, making it a perfect spot for reflection and photography.

Day 3: Explore Muktinath and Trek to Jharkot (3550m)

Duration: Approx. 30 minutes walk

In the morning, you will explore the sacred Muktinath Temple and surrounding areas. You can also visit nearby shrines and enjoy the spiritual atmosphere of the region. Afterward, take a short trek to the village of Jharkot, located just 30 minutes away. Jharkot is a tranquil settlement with a strong Tibetan influence, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The village is home to a monastery and a rich cultural heritage that you can explore. Spend the night in Jharkot, where you can experience the peaceful ambiance and local hospitality.

Day 4: Trek from Jharkot to Jomsom (2720m) via Lupra (3310m)

Duration: Approx. 6 to 7 hours walk

On Day 4, you will trek from Jharkot towards Jomsom, passing through the picturesque village of Lupra. As you journey along the trail, you will be treated to stunning views of the Kali Gandaki River and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Lupra, known for its rich Tibetan culture and the ancient Bon religion, offers a unique experience with its traditional villages and the historic Bonpo monastery. After exploring Lupra, you will continue your trek and reach Jomsom, a lively town and the gateway to the Mustang region.

Day 5: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara

Flight Duration: 30 minutes

Conclude your trek with a scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. The flight offers one last opportunity to enjoy the spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Arriving in Pokhara, you’ll have time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences of your Lower Mustang adventure.
