ITINERARY :

Day 1: Kathmandu (1324m) to Lukla (2860m) by flight, Trek to Phakding (2651m)

Duration: 35 minutes flight
Duration: Approx. 3 to 4 hours walk

Begin your adventure with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a trek to Phakding. The path follows the Dudh Koshi River, passing through small Sherpa villages and lush forests.

Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar ( 3440 m / 11,286 ft;)

Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours walk

After breakfast, you’ll continue along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River and cross it several times. You’ll climb uphill to reach Namche Bazaar, the main trading center of the Khumbu region. The trail offers spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Nuptse. You’ll spend the night in Namche Bazaar.

Day 3: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

It’s important to take a rest day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize to the high altitude. You can explore the town, visit the local museum, or take a short hike to the nearby villages of Khunde and Khumjung. You’ll spend another night in Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche ( 3956 m / 12,979 ft,)

Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours walk

After breakfast, you’ll trek to Tengboche, a beautiful village that is home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. Along the way, you’ll pass through forests of rhododendrons and junipers and cross several suspension bridges. You’ll spend the night in Tengboche.

Day 5: Tengboche to Dingboche ( 4380 m, 14,370 ft,)

Duration: Approx. 5 hours walk

The trail is, of course, very scenic but also quite challenging today. We follow the Imja Khola before climbing up to Dingboche’s windswept fields (mainly potato fields).

This is the highest Sherpa settlement in the Khumbu Region. Ama Dablam’s views here are spectacular and dramatic, as we will arrive at Dingboche in time for lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax with a book or gaze at the surrounding mountains.

Day 6: Dingboche (4380m) Acclimatization Day

With the ever-rising altitude, it is important to take another day to acclimatize. There are several options available for short hikes today. Such as visiting the base of NangkarTshang Peak, with its sacred sites and views of Mt. Makalu. This trip is a 3.5 to 5-hour round trip, and the ascending altitude on this hike will help our bodies prepare for the high altitudes ahead.

Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche ( 4938 m / 16,200 ft)

Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours walk

Today the trek begins with a gentle climb toward the Pheriche Valley. Trekking above the valley floor, we pass through alpine scrub and yak pastures.

The trail continues to Thokla Pass, where the ascent is challenging. A photographer’s paradise, as there are panoramic views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, and a few other 7,000-plus-meter peaks!

After crossing the pass, we reach Lobuche, which is not a very attractive settlement in itself, but the scenery surrounding it is beautiful and dramatic.

Day 8 : Lobuche to Gorak Shep ( 5160 m / 16,929 ft ) then Everest View

Duration: Approx. 7 hours walk

This is an exciting day! Today we ascended to the viewpoint of Everest. First, the trail takes us for about 3 hours over boulders and rough terrain to the small settlement of Gorak Shep.

After lunch, it starts for Kala Patthar, from where the views of Everest are simply the best views you can get. At 5545 m, this is the highest altitude we can trek in Nepal without requiring climbing permits. Its name means black rock, which is more of a ridge than a mountain.

If the weather is not clear, we may leave Kala Patthar for the morning, as the sunrise over Everest is equally awe-inspiring as the sunset.

Day 9: Gorak Shep to Pheriche (4371 m / 14,340 ft) (morning hike to EBC )

Duration: Approx. 7 to 8 hours walk

If we didn’t make it to Kala Patthar yesterday, we would do it this morning, returning to Gorak Shep for breakfast. Similarly, if we didn’t visit Everest Base Camp on day 9, we would do that this morning. Each trip takes 3–4 hours to return from Gorak Shep.

After breakfast, we head to Pheriche, which takes approximately 4 hours. This little settlement houses the Himalayan Rescue Association Clinic.

Long established, it is now a hospital but still focuses on altitude sickness and altitude-related problems of trekkers and climbers, as well as the health of the local people. Staffed mainly by volunteer medical personnel, this is an interesting area feature.

Day 10: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar ( 3440 m / 11,286 ft )

Duration: Approx.7 hours walk

The trail descends quite considerably today, but some uphills must be tackled as we approach the Namche, where the forests and greenery return.

This is a long day of walking, made harder by the hard hiking the day before. But push on, because a good dinner and a hot shower await! And now is the opportunity to celebrate your successful trek to Everest Base Camp.

And with wifi available, now is also time to get in touch with loved ones at home and perhaps upload a few pictures of your trip.

Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla ( 2860 m / 9383 ft )

Duration: Approx. 7 hours walk

The trail descends towards the Dudh Koshi River, passing through small villages and crossing several suspension bridges. The trail also offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. You will also pass through the Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint before arriving at Lukla.

Day 12: Lukla to Kathmandu ( Flight )

Duration: 35 to 40 minutes flight

This morning, say goodbye to Mt. Everest and the Khumbu Region as we board our flight back to either Kathmandu or Manthali Airport. Depending on which airport is open at that time and, of course, weather conditions, we will be back in Kathmandu for brunch or in the early afternoon.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the city or shopping for souvenirs.
