Annapurna Base Camp Trek

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Pokhara (822 m) to Kilyu (1,460 m) then to Ghandruk (1,940 m)

Duration: Approx. 2 to 3 hours drive
Duration: Approx. 2 to 3 hours walk

Begin the trek with a scenic drive to Kilyu. From there, walk through a forested trail leading to the beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk. Explore traditional Gurung culture, visit the Gurung Museum, and enjoy spectacular views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Overnight stay at Ghandruk.

Day 2: Ghandruk (1,940 m) to Chomrong (2,170 m)

Duration: Appro. 5 to 6 hours walk

Trek through terraced fields and rhododendron forests while enjoying mesmerizing views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre. Descend to Kimrong Khola, cross a suspension bridge, and ascend to Chomrong, a picturesque village located at the base of the Modi Khola valley. Stay overnight at Chomrong.

Day 3: Chomrong (2,170 m) to Bamboo (2,310 m)

Duration: Approx. 4 to 5 hours walk

Begin the day with a descent down steep stone steps to Chomrong Khola. Cross the suspension bridge and ascend through bamboo and rhododendron forests to reach Bamboo. This stretch offers a serene trekking experience surrounded by lush greenery. Overnight stay at Bamboo.

Day 4: Bamboo (2,310 m) to Deurali (3,230 m)

Duration: Approx. 4 to 5 hours walk

Continue trekking uphill through dense bamboo and oak forests, crossing rivers and small waterfalls. The trail gradually opens up to alpine vegetation as you near Deurali. This section offers glimpses of high Himalayan peaks and deep valleys. Overnight stay at Deurali.

Day 5: Deurali (3,230 m) to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m)

Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours walk

The trek to Annapurna Base Camp passes through Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 m), offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. From there, ascend gradually to Annapurna Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks like Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. Witness the stunning sunset or sunrise over the Annapurna massif. Overnight stay at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).

Day 6: Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m) to Sinuwa (2,360 m)

Duration: Approx. 6 to 7 hours walk

Begin your descent retracing the path through Deurali and Bamboo to Sinuwa. The return journey allows you to savor the changing landscapes and take in the tranquil mountain ambiance. Overnight stay at Sinuwa

Day 7: Sinuwa (2,360 m) to Jhinu (1,780 m) to Kily and then drive Pokhara (822 m)

Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours walk
Duration: Approx. 3 hours (Jhinu to Pokhara) drive 

Descend to Jhinu Danda, where you can relax in the natural hot springs. From Jhinu, trek to Kilyu and drive back to Pokhara, completing your journey. Enjoy the scenic drive and reflect on the incredible experience.

This itinerary ensures a mix of adventure and cultural exploration while allowing time for acclimatization and enjoyment of the stunning Annapurna region.
